What We Do

BrainMind accelerates breakthrough innovation through six strategic pillars that unite the brightest minds across disciplines:

1. Hosting World-Class Summits

We convene the brightest minds in science, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy at our flagship summits. These gatherings have become the premier destination for cross-sector collaboration, where Nobel laureates share stages with startup founders and philanthropists discover their next transformative investment. Our summits consistently attract those at the forefront of neuroscience innovation and have sparked countless partnerships that are reshaping entire fields.

2. Cultivating Ecosystem Partnerships

Through our intimate salons and demo days, we facilitate the connections that matter most. These carefully curated gatherings bring together the right people at the right moment—whether it's a researcher presenting to potential collaborators, an entrepreneur pitching to aligned investors, or a philanthropist discovering their next major initiative. Our gatherings have become the breeding ground for companies that are now leading their sectors.

BrainMind Success Case Studies

Below are just a few of the success stories that began at BrainMind:

Ecosystem members Dr. David Spiegel and Ariel Poler co-founded Reveri in 2018 after the meeting at the first BrainMind Summit.

The Braingels, an investing community dedicated to supporting early-stage ventures focused on the brain, mind, mental health, independently spun out of BrainMind after members met through our community.

Thynk, an interactive gaming system targeted at improving attention and impulse control, received substantial capital and partnership opportunities after presenting at a demo day.

BrainMind provided NTX Services (which has since been acquired by Accuracy) with an extensive database of companies and labs, and sponsored multiple events to support their market expansion efforts.

Sanmai Technologies is a BrainMind grantee and received our support in organizing an SPV to accelerate their funding and growth trajectory.

Humanity Neurotech secured angel investment through a direct BrainMind introduction and subsequently received syndicate investment from the Braingels

3. Deploying Strategic Philanthropic Capital

We've partnered with forward-thinking philanthropists to deploy over $15 million in strategic grants, supporting the most promising innovative ideas at their earliest stages. Our funding has catalyzed breakthrough research, launched successful startups, and enabled academic institutions to pursue high-risk, high-reward projects that traditional funding won't support. Each grant represents not just capital, but access to our network and ongoing mentorship. BrainMind is supporting the following companies:

4. Advancing Primary Research

Beyond funding external research, we conduct and support primary research initiatives that address critical knowledge gaps. From our collaboration with researchers like Richard Isaacson to specialized facilities like an in-house brain lab, we're actively pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Our research initiatives often serve as proof-of-concept for larger scientific endeavors.

5. Fostering Unconventional Innovation

Our unconference-style gatherings, create the intellectual freedom scientists and technologists need to dream up truly novel ideas. These sessions deliberately break from traditional conference formats, encouraging the kind of spontaneous collaboration and creative thinking that leads to paradigm shifts. Many breakthrough concepts have emerged from these informal but intensive exchanges.

6. Creating and Sharing Neuroscience Field Intelligence

We identify patterns and map the landscapes of emerging scientific fields, transforming complex research into strategic intelligence that reaches diverse audiences worldwide. Our educational initiatives don't just bridge the knowledge gap—they empower everyone from students to private sector stakeholders to make science-informed decisions in their everyday lives. Our Alzheimer's Prevention Course has been licensed by national nonprofits and universities across the country, while our recent BCI report generated such widespread demand that it quickly went viral across our channels. Drawing on Diana Saville's decades of experience in scientific communication, we're fostering a more informed global dialogue about the technologies that will shape our future.

7. Mentoring Tomorrow's Leaders

Through programs like the ASPT internship, we're investing in the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of science and technology. Our mentorship extends beyond traditional academic guidance—we provide real-world experience, industry connections, and the entrepreneurial mindset needed to translate scientific discoveries into societal impact to high performing undergraduate students.

BrainMind has hosted a summer internship every year since it’s founding in 2018.
