School of Visual Arts: Art Therapy Workshop

School of Visual Arts: Art Therapy Workshop
Time: 1:00-2:30 pm
Location: 132 West 21st Street - 3rd Floor, New York, NY, 10011
Capacity: 20 people
Come make art with The Art Therapy Project (TATP). Participants will be invited to explore how various art materials can be a conduit for their emotions. You will be encouraged to play with an array of art media, and to see what comes up. Smearing, scribbling, tearing, and crumpling will all be encouraged. Come find where your brain on art meets the body driving it to make meaning out of the mess. This interactive art activation led by TATPs Clinical Director Joshua Brancheau will conclude with a focused grounding exercise that will leave you recharged and ready to face the rest of the day.
**No art skills required. This will not be a therapy session, but we hope to honor and hold space for your feelings.
