Recent advancements in AI have unlocked powerful capabilities by building large foundation models from language, vision, and multimodal data. But what happens when artificial intelligence is shaped by the neural signals of human thought and experience?  In this pioneering discussion, Dimitris Sakellariou (neuroengineer and AI scientist), Mariam Khayretdinova (neuroscientist and EEG expert), Hagai Lalazar (computational neuroscientist and entrepreneur), Patrick Mineault (NeuroAI expert), and Tom Gruber (co-founder of Siri, AI thought leader) explore the frontier of building large scale foundation models from EEG and other neural-based bio-signals. The panel will delve into profound questions around neural data representation, integration with other data modalities, neural scaling laws, ethical boundaries of brain-data use, and the transformative possibilities for human-computer interaction, healthcare, and personal augmentation. Join us as we envision a future where AI learns directly from human brainwaves, reshaping how technology understands and enhances human potential.

Tom Gruber is a product designer, entrepreneur, and AI graybeard.  He led the team that designed the Siri virtual assistant, and then led the Advanced Development Group at Apple for 8 years. Previously, he led design and technology for pioneering companies in Collective Knowledge Systems and Collaborative Knowledge Management, which harvest the collective contributions of people working together online. His research at Stanford in AI, particularly ontology engineering, helped lay the foundation for the Semantic Web and neuro-symbolic AI.  Today he advises companies and non-profit organizations that use technology to have a positive impact on humanity, with a focus on intelligence at the intersection of human and machine.
