Brainstorming Dinners

SF, Menlo Park

2017, 2018

In both August, 2017 and December, 2018, BrainMind hosted two intimate private dinners in San Francisco and Menlo Park, bringing together a cross-disciplinary group of thought leaders to explore how Buddhist philosophy can inform and enrich modern approaches to human flourishing. Guests included neuroscientists, Buddhist scholars, contemplative practitioners, entrepreneurs, and funders, all engaged in a shared inquiry: How might we support the growth of a living, evolving culture of Buddhist philosophy in the West?

Discussions focused on the intersection of Buddhist thought with modern neuroscience, including how insights from contemplative traditions align with emerging understandings of brain function, mental health, and well-being. Participants explored ways to foster rigorous dialogue between these domains while honoring the depth and integrity of Buddhist practice.

Both dinners served as fertile ground for ongoing collaborations between contemplative scholars, neuroscientists, and innovators, with an eye toward fostering a culture that integrates inner development with scientific rigor.
